We cruised to Fort Davis, TX
to go to the McDonald Observatory and see the stars through their telescopes. Not only are you out in the country, you
are over 6,000 ft elevation. The sky
was clear and the stars were gorgeous and it was COLD!!!!
First we went
to the fort – a real old West fort.
Then we drove
around the Fort
Davis scenic loop
Here is the
observatory in the daylight. We
couldn’t take pictures at night.
We even got to
see some Fall colors
And some
desert plains
You get to see
extremes here. Definitely worth the
trip.
